THE COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION PRESENTS
2024 CMA INTERNATIONAL AWARDS DURING THE CMA AWARDS

The Country Music Association, the premier trade association of the Country Music industry, has presented three more of its 2024 CMA International Awards.

On Wednesday, Nov. 20, Kip Moore was presented with the 2024 CMA International Artist Achievement Award during the CMA International Reception in downtown Nashville. This award recognizes outstanding achievement by a U.S.-based artist who has demonstrated the most significant creative growth, development and promotion of the Country Music industry outside of the United States. Moore has forged new paths for Country Music in South Africa, having first toured the country in 2023. Earlier this year, he also headlined the first ever Country Music festival in South Africa, CTC: Cape Town.

Also during the International Reception, Ron Sakamoto (President, Gold and Gold Productions Ltd) was presented with the 2024 CMA Rob Potts International Live Music Advancement Award by Matthew Ramsey of Old Dominion. This award recognizes outstanding achievements made by an individual who has made important contributions to the live music industry by extending performance opportunities and building live audiences for Country Music outside of the United States. Sakamoto has worked a long and storied career promoting individuals and groups across Canada.

Later that night on the CMA Awards Red Carpet, Josh Ross was surprised with the 2024 CMA Jeff Walker Global Country Artist Award by CMA Awards host Luke Bryan. This award recognizes outstanding achievements by a Country Music artist who is originally based internationally and currently signed outside of the United States. Earlier this year, Ross received the CCMA Entertainer of the Year Award after winning Breakthrough Artist of the Year in 2023. His tracks have surpassed 800 million global streams, and he has toured with artists like Nickelback and Luke Bryan.

CMA will present the remaining 2024 CMA International Awards throughout the next several months.

About the Country Music Association

Founded in 1958, the Country Music Association is the first trade organization formed to promote a type of music. The organization serves as an educational and professional resource for the industry and advances the growth of Country Music worldwide. This is accomplished through CMA’s core initiatives: the CMA Awards, which annually recognize outstanding achievement in the industry; CMA Fest, which benefits music education through the CMA Foundation and is taped for a television special, “CMA Fest”; and “CMA Country Christmas.” CMA’s television properties are screened internationally in Australia, Austria, Canada, Germany, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the U.K. CMA brings music worldwide, by presenting live performances featuring artists and songwriters through its touring series Introducing Nashville and CMA Songwriters Series. CMA members are located around the globe. Through task forces represented in Australasia, Canada, Europe, The Nordics and the U.K., industry leaders work to further Country Music in these territories. CMA presents awards across six categories to acknowledge the efforts of individuals working to develop Country Music in markets across the world.
