THE COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION HOSTS MEMBERSIPS EVENT FOCUSED ON
GENRE-BENDING IN COUNTRY MUSIC
CMA’s Ongoing MemberSIPS Programming Offers Country Music Professionals the Opportunity to
Gather and Discuss Important Topics in the Music Business
The Country Music Association welcomed CMA members to its Nashville HQ on Wednesday, June 26 for a MemberSIPS event focused on genre-bending and the infusion of different sounds into Country Music. As the genre experiences historic growth, members of the music industry convened to discuss the future of Country Music.
Moderator Mia Jones (CMA Senior Director, Industry Relations & Inclusion) and panelists Jacquelyn Marushka (Marushka Media President and Founder), Gina Miller (MNRK Music Group Senior Vice President and General Manager) and Sydney Owen (EMPIRE Product Manager) shared how Country Music has evolved over the years, and how many of the biggest names in Country today are continuing to explore bringing other sounds into the genre. The panelists discussed what it means for artists and the industry to work on genre-bending projects and the impact the blend can have on the future of the Country format.
As the premier trade association supporting individuals within the Country Music industry, CMA created MemberSIPS to cater to its members’ professional development needs—offering thematic presentations, discussions and gatherings, and providing members a networking opportunity with like-minded professionals while enjoying a beverage with one another.
