The CMA Triple Play Awards are presented to songwriters who have written three No. 1 songs in a 12-month period. Originally created in 1991, CMA has presented over 300 Triple Play Awards to songwriters.
Awards Criteria
The three charts recognized in the criteria for a Triple Play Award are Billboard Country Airplay, Billboard Hot Country Songs, and Country Aircheck.
Timeline
- Triple Play Awards are earned throughout the year as they are based on each writer’s own chart activity.
- The CMA Triple Play Awards are celebrated annually between February – April.
